Each year the Governing Council holds elections to fill positions on Governing Council and Academic Board. Also, members of the University who are not members of the Governing Council may be nominated to serve as a "co-opted" member of a Governing Council Board or Committee.
Elections are conducted under the rules set out each year in the Election Guidelines which are approved by the Governing Council. The implementation of the Election Guidelines is the responsibility of the Chief Returning Officer who is appointed by the University Affairs Board.
