The University Tribunal functions in accordance with the Code of Behavior on Academic Matters and is comprised of two divisions:
1. The Trial Division, referred to as the University Tribunal, Trial Division
2. The Appeal Division, known as the Discipline Appeals Board.
The Trial Division hears charges of alleged academic misconduct laid by the Provost against students and faculty after divisional procedures have been exhausted. Decisions of the Tribunal can be appealed to the Appeal Division of the Tribunal, the Discipline Appeals Board.
In addition to its adjudicative function, the University Tribunal serves an advisory role to the Academic Board regarding policy and procedures in respect of the Code of Behavior on Academic Matters. It also recommends to Governing Council sanctions to be imposed against students and faculty found guilty of academic misconduct.
