Minutes of the College of Electors meeting held on February 22, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., in the Council Chamber:

- Chair’s Remarks and Orientation
The Chair welcomed members and guests to the meeting. She opened her remarks by expressing deep regret for the death of Ms Sheila Ritcey, College of Electors member (Physical and Occupational Therapy), on February 16th.
On motion duly moved, seconded, and carried, the College moved In Camera. -
Election of Alumni Governors
The 2023-2024 Nominating Committee for Alumni Governors (NC-AG) reported to the College on the interviews of candidates that had been held and on the Committee’s recommendations.
Discussion of each candidate then took place and the NC-AG responded to questions posed by members.
The following were elected as alumni members of the Governing Council:
Paul Huyer re-elected to the Governing Council, for a three-year term from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2027.
Geeta Yadav re-elected to the Governing Council, for a three-year term from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2027.
The Chair expressed thanks to the members of the College and the NC-AG for their work. The Chair reminded members about the importance of confidentiality regarding all of the candidates and the COE discussions, to be maintained in perpetuity.
On motion duly moved, seconded, and carried, the College moved into open session.
- Nomination Process 2024-2025 Executive Committee of the College of Electors (NC-EC)
The Chair provided some background information about the membership process for the Executive Committee outlined in the Constitution. Continuing members were encouraged to consider applying to serve on the 2024-2025 Executive Committee.
Members in their fourth year had previously volunteered at the May 17, 2023 COE meeting to serve on the 2023-2024 NC-EC. They were: Shauna Gundy (Trinity); Vidia Dhanraj (New College); and Ernesto Diaz Lozano Patino (Engineering).
Outgoing members of the Executive Committee, Shauna Gundy, Arun Channa, and David Plant, shared their experiences on the Committee.
The application deadline was March 21st, 2024. The NC-EC would prepare a recommendation to the College for its final meeting in May. - Report of the Previous Meeting – January 22, 2024

The minutes of the meeting of January 22, 2024 were approved. -
Business Arising from the Report of the Previous Meeting
There was no business arising from the report of the previous meeting. - Date of the Next Meeting – May 15, 2024, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
The Chair noted that the next meeting of the College of Electors was scheduled to be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on May 15, 2024. - Other Business
There was no other business.
